Assoc. Prof. Dr. Güven TURGUT, our faculty member of the Department of Basic Sciences, succeeded in being included in the "World's Most Influential Scientists" list published by ScienceDirect PLOS Biology magazine, together with 3 faculty members from our university.

The "World's Most Influential Scientists" study was carried out by John Ioannidis and his team from Stanford University, and the academic performances of 7 million scientists who have published at least 5 articles in the study were evaluated between 1996-2019 from the "Scopus Summary" and "Citation Database". According to the data obtained, 100 thousand scientists who are in the "top scientist of the world" category were determined.

Academic performances in a study; the scientific criteria such as the number of articles, h-index, hm-index in co-authored publications, citations, citations to articles with different authorship positions were evaluated, and scientists were classified into 22 scientific fields and 176 subfields according to their individual study fields. Two ranking lists were created as "Annual Impact".

"World's Most Influential Scientists' in the world list of 100 thousand, is located 857 academics from Turkey. We congratulate Assoc. Prof. Dr.  Güven TURGUT and wish him continued success.
